Airline rules decide whether you can board. Your midwife or doctor decides whether it's safe for you. Talk to them first if you've had complications, or if you're flying long-haul. The NHS says the chance of going into labour is naturally higher from 37 weeks (32 weeks with twins).

Check that your travel insurance covers pregnancy, including the birth of a baby abroad. Many policies stop cover at a set week.

Airlines word their limits as "up to the end of week 36". This checker counts 36 weeks + 6 days as the last day. Flights in the final week before a limit are flagged so you can confirm with the airline.
